I specialise in polishing writing to ensure it’s clear, effective, and great to read, whether it’s a work of history, a thesis, or a public sector report.
Naomi edited this year’s annual report for Bridge Housing. Her editing work was excellent, and went far beyond just looking for inconsistencies and errors. As well as conducting a robust structural and copy edit, and a final proof-read, Naomi challenged us to think about how we express our ideas. She was not afraid to tell us where the writing could be improved, and where the industry-specific terminology should be explained. The end result is the strongest annual report that we have delivered to date.

I was project editor at Dictionary of Sydney for two years and project coordinator/editor/writer of the illustrated NSW Centenary of Anzac Book, New South Wales and the Great War. I’ve edited a range of professional publications and reports, including in-house magazines and newsletters, place-making studies, heritage reports, interpretive signage, press releases and annual reports.
As a qualified academic, I understand the requirements of written work at honours, masters and doctoral level and will work with students to produce the best possible result. I’m registered to edit higher-degree research theses with Western Sydney University.
I’ve spent years in not-for-profit and preparing annual reports that meet the highest governance standards. As a a senior policy officer (writer) at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, within the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department, I have produced high quality, plain English, policy documents that will be published with the final report.
I do structural edits, fact-checking and copy-editing and can brief designers and manage web publications.
